Museum Studies Internships
Review the courses. Museum Studies internship research is directed toward practical application (such as curating and installing exhibitions, collections care and management, and/or public programming) within the University of Lethbridge Art Gallery and other cultural organizations.
University of Lethbridge Art Gallery
The University of Lethbridge Art Gallery provides a wealth of opportunities for students enrolled in Museum Studies internships within the Department of Art. Interns work with the University's significant art collection and curate exhibitions for public locations around campus, assist with conservation projects, work on preparing work for exhibition and travel, assist with installing and documenting exhibitions, and learn about the registration procedures of a public art gallery. As well, interns can works with visiting artists and deliver public programs.

Internships with Cultural Organizations in Lethbridge
Students may also choose to explore the wealth of opportunities available throughout the city of Lethbridge’s arts community. Internships are regularly held at the Southern Alberta Art Gallery, Sir Alexander Galt Museum and Archives, Casa, and other cultural organizations throughout the city.
Whyte Museum of the Canadian Rockies Museum Studies Internship
Each year, a student with strong art history and museum studies experience is selected for a four month work placement at the Whyte Museum of the Canadian Rockies, in Banff AB. Students gain practical work experience in a significant museum, as well as receive a monthly stipend and subsidized housing. Generously supported by the Whyte Museum and the Faculty of Fine Arts Dean's Office.
