Opera Workshop

The U of L Opera Workshop presents opera at its finest. Under the direction of Dr. Sandra Stringer, the ensemble produces one act operas or operatic excerpts in the fall, as well as a fully staged annual operatic concert production in the spring in collaboration with the Lethbridge Symphony Orchestra.

Wind Orchestra

The U of L Wind Orchestra, under the direction of Dr. Chee Meng Low, flexes a diverse range of talent. From performances at convocation ceremonies, to collaborative concerts with school groups and community bands, to their Wind Orchestra Concerto Competition, the Wind Orchestra pushes the boundaries of wind band performance.

U of L Singers

Under the direction of Dr. Janet Youngdahl, the U of L Singers is a talented ensemble of emerging vocalists. Since their establishment in 1982, the U of L Singers has graced stages throughout the community and across Canada, performing a wide variety of styles and has premiered several works by notable Canadian composers.

Jazz Ensemble

From vintage big band to contemporary jazz, the U of L Jazz Ensemble, under the direction of Dr. Josh Davies, serenades audiences through an eclectic program of new music and old favourites. The ensemble performs often throughout the year, and have collaborated with some of Canada's top jazz musicians.

Global Drums

Experience the energy of Global Drums! This powerful ensemble, of both community and student members, presents the world to its audiences, through samba, steel band, Brazilian, Taiko, African, Chinese and chamber percussion styles. Under the direction of Adam Mason, this ensemble has thundered across stages around the world.

Integra Contemporary Electroacoustic (ICE) Ensemble

ICE engages in experimental approaches that include composing, improvising, creating new performance paradigms, applying creative sound production techniques, and exploring a potential for new forms of musical expressivity through contemporary music.

Collaborative Ensemble

This ensemble of pianists and guitarists partner with singers and instrumentalists to perform popular sonatas, showpieces, opera arias, and art songs. As duos, they study the subtleties of language and poetry, acoustics and balance; bringing their music to life in the moment of performance.
