PRODUCTION #2:

Animal Farm, by Tatty Hennessy, directed by Nicola Elson

“Power tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely” (Acton).

When the animals of Manor Farm rebel against their human oppressor, they dream of a paradise where all animals are equal. But as the pigs seize control, the noble revolution descends into a chilling dictatorship.

“The animals in the play all look like us. The humans don't look at all like us. Anyone can play any part. Assume good intentions for as long as you can.” (Hennessy)

We are seeking fearless, highly physical performers with strong ensemble instincts in this visceral adaptation of the iconic novel exploring power, propaganda and betrayal. Comfort with intense movement, proximity, and staged violence required. Some performers will also engage in live percussive elements.

Audition Dates/Times/Locations:

  • Monday, Apr 20 12-3 PM (W480)
  • Tuesday, Apr 21 12-3 PM (W425)

  • Please prepare a 1-2 minute monologue to present that shows off your physicality
