Fall 2024 Next Steps
Once you have decided that you are proceeding with your exchange, please follow the next steps.
Always quote your name and uLethbridge ID number in all of your email to ensure a quick response.
Visit here for accommodation information and submit your accommodation preference
ON-CAMPUS ACCOMMODATION (University Dorms):
- Apply for on-campus accommodation
- Apply in April
- Summary of Expenses
- Housing office will require students to communicate using their uLethbridge email
OFF-CAMPUS ACCOMMODATION:
- Placement information will be emailed in late June to early July
HOMESTAY:
- Homestay is provided by Canada Homestay Network
- Fee schedule
- Apply in April
Apply for your study permit/visa using your Letter of Acceptance and Exchange Student Letter as soon as you are confident that you are travelling to Canada.

Application processing times
The Sexual Violence Prevention Training must be completed prior to registration. The course can be accessed here.
The Bridge is a website which allows you to access your personal information, search for courses, add and drop courses, view your student account for assessment of fees, and view your grades and transcripts. Please ensure that you have set up your username and password.
You will register in your courses through the Education Abroad Coordinator - Incoming. Registration will begin in June. Instructions will be provided via Zoom.

If you have a disability that affects your learning and academic success and are looking for information on how to receive academic support, visit the Accessible Learning Centre. You will need to register with the Accessible Learning Centre and provide medical documentation.
Once you have received your study permit/visa approval, book your flight to Canada.
From Calgary to Lethbridge, you can fly WestJet or book the Red Arrow Bus. Red Arrow Bus must be booked in advance.

Once you receive your study permit approval, please email incoming@uleth.ca with the documentation.
We are interested in your safe arrival in Lethbridge and request that you provide us with the details of your arrival in Canada and Lethbridge. Please email your Arrival Form to incoming@uleth.ca.
Purchase health insurance coverage in your home country before departure. It is mandatory for all students to have proper health coverage.
Email an English copy of your health insurance to incoming@uleth.ca
If you would like to purchase insurance through a Canadian insurance company, visit : https://www.studyinsured.com/studentvip/en/category/international-students/compare
There are 3 options Silver ($2.10 per day), Gold ($2.36 per day) and Platinum ($3.29 per day). Once purchased, you will receive confirmation of coverage e-mail and welcome package. You will determine the start and end date for coverage. These plans all provide up to 2 million in medical care coverage while in Canada.
All ID card requests must be submitted online.
Click here to request an ID card. A photo (head shot with neutral background) must be uploaded with the request. You may smile in the photo.
Your uLethbridge ID card will be used as your city transit pass (UPass) and other services.
