UofL Peer Mentorship Program

The University of Lethbridge Peer Mentorship Program is a unique initiative designed by educators, for educators. Whether you are at the start of your career or new to the University of Lethbridge, this program provides an opportunity to share experiences, discuss day-to-day challenges in your teaching practice, receive feedback on your teaching practice and foster connections with colleagues.

Why This Program Matters 

This program is rooted in the belief that building community among scholars is essential for professional growth. It goes beyond sharing classroom strategies or seeking pedagogical advice; it is about forming meaningful relationships that extend across disciplines. By leaning on colleagues who have navigated similar challenges, whether balancing academic demands with family life or managing the intricacies of teaching and service, this mentorship program helps educators find both professional and personal support.

How it Works 

Mentees are matched with two mentors from our pool of experienced faculty and instructors based on an intake survey that helps us tailor the mentorship to individual goals and interests. Throughout the program, mentees will lead the way, setting the pace for meetings and the direction of the conversations. Whether you are exploring new teaching methods—or seeking advice on work-life balance—this flexible, mentee-driven approach ensures that your mentorship experience is personalized and impactful.

Building a Community 

At its heart, this program is about connection. It is an organic process where mentors and mentees come together not just to exchange ideas but to build lasting relationships.
