OER brings a broad range of benefits to the students as well as the educators. Among others they:

  • facilitate collaboration among content experts and students;
  • ensure academic freedom to use, modify, retain and share content;
  • enhance research and teaching visibility;
  • provide more relevant and up-to-date materials to students;
  • improve student retention and learning outcomes by reducing cost;
  • grant learners access to knowledge and quality education (Sustainable Development Goal 4) anytime;
  • invite students to become content creators through meaningful assignments.

The University is located on traditional Blackfoot Confederacy territory. We honour the Blackfoot people and their traditional ways of knowing in caring for this land, as well as all Aboriginal peoples who have helped shape and continue to strengthen our University community.
