NEW EDUCATOR ORIENTATION AT THE UNIVERSITY OF LETHBRIDGE
Welcome to the University of Lethbridge! As a new academic staff member with teaching responsibilities, you are someone we are excited to have join our community. If you need important information about getting started, you'll find it here on our website.
The Teaching Centre's New Educator Orientation (NEO) will be held on August 28, 2026, from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm at AH100, Andy's Place in Anderson Hall.
The morning session (9:00 am – 12:00 pm) is an opportunity to meet the Teaching Centre team, connect with newly hired colleagues—including sessionals, instructors, and faculty members—and learn about key support groups available to you as you begin your journey at ULeth.
The afternoon session (1:00 pm – 3:30 pm) covers essential topics such as generative AI in teaching and learning, course outline expectations, assessment of student learning policies and procedures, and a brief intro to Moodle (our Learning Management System). There will also be time to collaborate and connect with colleagues and the Teaching Centre team.
An optional lunch will be available at the ZOO Pub & Grill (at your own expense). You may submit your order and dietary needs in advance to ensure a smooth experience. See the ZOO Pub & Grill Menu for options. Joining for lunch is a great opportunity to network with new colleagues!
The New Educator Orientation (NEO) is held in person at the Lethbridge campus, with participants from the Calgary campus joining via Zoom.
We look forward to welcoming you to the orientation and to the University of Lethbridge!
