Why use OER?
Open Educators use OER for a variety of reasons. One of the primary arguments that the OER users at the Uof L make is the intention to somewhat alleviate the high textbook costs students bear in addition to their tuition. At the same time, academic freedom is often cited as an equally motivating factor. With OER you have and/ or grant others permission to retain, reuse, revise, remix and redistribute teaching/ learning resources. These permission have yet a few other positive side-effects, some of which you find listed below.
