Our Values
The U of L was established in 1967. One of the founding principles was that the University should encourage students to live in on-campus housing in order to obtain the greatest exposure to and benefits from the academic experience. See Campus Master Plan (1969).
At the U of L, our on-campus housing facilities are designed to support you both academically and socially. Living in Residence will aid you in the transition to University life, and afford you the opportunity to forge friendships that will last a lifetime. See Operation of On-Campus Housing.
Our Community
Operating on a cost-recovery basis, we are committed to providing the services and resources that students and parents have come to expect of us. At the U of L, Residence Life is about providing a high standard of safety while also supporting the growth and autonomy of individuals. See Residence Security.
Inclusivity
Housing Services embraces diversity and strives to create an inclusive environment for everyone in the on-campus housing community. If there is anything we can do to make sure your needs are accommodated in on-campus housing, please don’t hesitate to reach out to Housing Services.
Partners with Student Life
Although Residence Life provides the greatest exposure to and benefits from the academic experience, accommodations are limited. Consequently, Housing Services and the U of L Residence Council work closely with Enrollment Services, a department within the Student Enrolment and Registrar Services. See Campus Staff Directory.
