Transfer Resources

The University of Lethbridge is an exceptional choice for continuing your educational pursuits. Regardless of where you are transferring to the University of Lethbridge from, we offer information and resources to assist you in making sure you receive appropriate transfer credit for courses you have taken at other institutions. For information regarding admission requirements please see Post-Secondary Admission Route.

See also Courses not Previously Assessed for Transfer Credit.

Many students are eligible to have some or all previous post-secondary work transferred for credit toward completion of their University of Lethbridge degree. Transfer credit is awarded upon admission to the University of Lethbridge. Detailed course outlines may be required for courses that have not been previously assessed for transfer credit by the University of Lethbridge.

The minimum grade required for a course to be accepted for transfer to the University of Lethbridge is a ‘D’; however, degree and program requirements may differ.

As an example, the Undergraduate Diploma in Finance requires a minimum grade of ‘C-’ in all Dhillon School of Business courses and courses cross-listed with Dhillon School of Business courses; Economics 1010; Economics 1012; Statistics 1770; Writing 1000 or English 1900; and all courses in the major requirements marked with an asterisk (*) in order to meet diploma requirements.

Unspecified course credit (1xxx, 2xxx, etc.) denotes that the University of Lethbridge does not offer the specific course you transferred in, but we recognize it and treat it as a university-level course. An unspecified course may not meet a specific course requirement.

For example, if CHEM 1000 is required in your program, you may not use CHEM 1xxx to fulfill that requirement.

Please contact a Student Program Advisor for more information and program planning assistance.

Students can search for courses that have been previously assessed for transfer credit using the University of Lethbridge Transfer Equivalency Database. If your institution or courses are not listed, they still may be eligible for transfer credit. See Courses not Previously Assessed for Transfer Credit.

If you have already received a diploma from a recognized college, you may be able to match this to a Post-Diploma degree program at the University of Lethbridge. Once admitted to the University of Lethbridge, you will need to complete about twenty semester courses, depending on the particular program, in order to satisfy degree requirements. For current information on approved diploma programs, visit www.uleth.ca/ross/post-diploma.

The University is located on traditional Blackfoot Confederacy territory. We honour the Blackfoot people and their traditional ways of knowing in caring for this land, as well as all Aboriginal peoples who have helped shape and continue to strengthen our University community.
