Admission after High School/Secondary School

Applicants presenting Alberta high school credentials, high school credentials from other Canadian provinces, and secondary school credentials from other countries will be considered for admission under the High School Admission Route if they have not completed any university-level (transferable) courses.

Admission after Post-Secondary Study (University or College)

Applicants who present six or more transferable courses will be considered for admission under the Post-secondary Transfer Student route.

  • To be considered for transfer credit, students must submit a course outline (syllabus) for each course completed in the previous university or college.
  • Transfer applicants presenting three- and four-year university degrees from recognized universities may be considered for admission to a second Bachelor degree program.

For All Applicants, if English is not your first spoken language, you must also satisfy the English Language Proficiency Requirement .

Note: Some programs may have additional requirements for admission.

Application Information

Applications are considered complete when the application fee has been paid and all supporting documents are received by the Admissions Office. In addition to your application and the required fee, you must submit:

  • Official transcripts from all secondary and post-secondary institutions of study.
  • Proof of English Language Proficiency if your first spoken language is not English.

To be considered for transfer credit, applications with previous post-secondary studies must submit a course outline (syllabus) for each class completed in the previous college or university.

If your documents are not in English, then an official, certified English translation and the original (untranslated) version must both be submitted.

English Language Proficiency (ELP)

Effective for Fall 2019 admission, EAP programs and ELP test-based assessments must be completed within two years prior to application.

  • A satisfactory score on a standardized English test such as:
    • TOEFL
    • IELTS
    • PTE
    • CAEL
    • CAE
    • CPE
    • MELAB
