Compose Perform Play Sing: Music Studio at uLethbridge

Explore this performance-intensive learning experience as a singer or instrumentalist. You'll receive one-on-one instruction from master performer-teachers, attend guest artist classes and have multiple performance opportunities throughout the year.

If you are interested in composition, you will work with professional composers and have the opportunity to write for the University’s many ensembles through our composer-in-residence program. Recitals showcase your development and accomplishments as a musician, and your experience is enhanced by participation in ensembles. With 24-hour access, the individual practice studios and composition labs provide you with the freedom to hone your skills on campus.

Areas of concentration:

  • Brass
  • Composition
  • Guitar
  • Percussion
  • Piano
  • Strings
  • Voice
  • Woodwinds

You have full access to co-operative education, international exchanges, independent and applied studies as well as volunteer opportunities. uLethbridge is the only university in Alberta to offer co-operative education to all majors in the university, at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.

Participate in a dynamic season of graduate and junior recitals, visiting performers and workshops, internship opportunities, recording and producing contracts, professional certification, and competitions at the local to international levels.

"Music is something I always feel comfortable in. I believe it is beneficial for society because it provides people with a purpose, and brings them into a community. You can freely express yourself in a safe environment. I would recommend anyone coming into the Music program complete work early. Starting homework and projects early gives you much more time, and takes away an abundance of stress that you will have near the end of the semester." - Blake Davenport
