Honorary Degree Nominations & Forms

Call for Honorary Degree Nominations

2024/2025 Nomination Deadline: Wednesday, January 15, 2024

The University of Lethbridge Senate is inviting Honorary Degree nominations for the 2024-2025 year and welcomes submissions from both the campus and broader community. We seek to recognize individuals who have made a significant impact locally, regionally, or globally. Honorary Degree recipients come from diverse backgrounds and fields, including academics, the arts and performance, athletics, public intellectualism, visionary leadership across public, private, and non-profit sectors, long-standing and exemplary service to the University, and community building and philanthropy.

These distinguished individuals embody the values central to the University's liberal education philosophy. They cultivate humane values and are committed to fostering intellectual growth, social development, aesthetic sensitivity, personal ethics, and the depth of character that defines a scholar.

To be considered, nominations must be submitted by January 15, 2025, to the University Senate Office, 4401 University Drive, Lethbridge, Alberta, T1K 3M4, or via email at governance@uleth.ca. For any inquiries, please contact the Senate Office at 403-329-2482.

Recipients are selected by the University Senate from nominations submitted by the public and the University community. The Senate is authorized to confer honorary degrees under the Post-Secondary Learning Act of Alberta.
