Technology Alberta - FIRST Jobs WIL Scale Up Program

 

 

Does your business further creativity and innovation in Alberta's tech sector? Are you dedicated to building community through mentorship?

 

Building upon the success of our FIRST Jobs WIL Program - Technology Alberta now offers the FIRST Jobs Scale Up program. Scale Up provides qualifying companies the ability to hire one Alberta post-secondary student/recent graduate for 500 hours. (If you are interested in hiring more than one intern, any additional interns will have to be funded by your company and will not be eligible for any reimbursement by Technology Alberta.)

 

Program Parameters:

  • 500 hour work term, paid at $20/hour
  • $10,000 paid to the student by the employer: $7,500 funded through Technology Alberta and $2,500 funded by the company.

 

Timing: 

Options for work terms include:

  • Full-time, September 2023 - February 2024 (30 - 40 hours per week)- Waitlisted. Please fill out the application form here, and your company will be contacted if space opens in the cohort. If contacted, respond promptly to secure your funded placement.

 

Eligible companies for FIRST Jobs Scale-up funding are:

  • Incorporated in Alberta
  • Revenue generating (Companies that are working to scale their operations)
  • SME (Under 100 Employees)
  • Working in the technology sector
  • Able to provide mentorship to their hired student
  • Working to build in-house HR capacity
