A bachelor's degree (BA) in music is a broad, general program of study that allows you to explore our classical conservatory driven program as well as other interests, and provides flexibility in the courses you take.
Demand is increasing for cultural workers with expertise in business and management. This five-year combined degrees program bridges the gap and you graduate with two degrees.

The Bachelor of Arts (Music)/Bachelor of Business Administration stream requires less music courses and provides more flexibility for you to gain a wide-ranging set of skills and expertise. This is a 50-course (150.0 credit hour) Combined Degrees program jointly offered by the Faculty of Fine Arts and Dhillon School of Business.
Combine your passion for music with hands-on experiences. As a music student, you complete a core of required music courses and then you choose electives based on your areas of interest. Tailor your program in one or more areas like music history, theory, classical and/or contemporary music.

What you need to know as a current student in this program
The Faculty of Fine Arts and the Dhillon School of Business jointly offer a 50-course (150.0 credit hour) Combined Degrees program leading to the degrees Bachelor of Arts (BA) and Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA). Upon successful completion of the Combined Degrees program, you receive the BA (Music) degree from the Faculty of Fine Arts and the BBA degree from the Dhillon School of Business.
For the BA (Music) program there are some must-take courses that provide a great foundation for your major, but you'll have a lot of flexibility in choosing your courses for the path and creative study you wish to take. Refer to your Program Planning Guide in your calendar year for the courses you'll need to take and choose from within the Music lists, Music Studio lists, Music Ensemble Activity lists and as Electives.
- at least 30 courses (90.0 credit hours) with cumulative and graduation grade point averages of at least 2.00;
- at least 10 courses (30.0 credit hours) at the 3000/4000 level;
- 16 required music courses for this major;
- at least 20 Dhillon School of Business courses;
- Completion of the Liberal Education List Requirement.
Remember that program requirements vary depending on the calendar year, which is usually the year of admission (or readmission) to ULethbridge. Therefore, requirements may differ from year to year even within the same major.
