Academic Support

The School of Graduate Studies (SGS) offers a number of programs, events, activities, and competitions to help University of Lethbridge graduate students find success and engage in the campus community.

THRIVE Professional Skills Program

This program provides free, optional opportunities for uLethbridge graduate students to develop competencies, including teaching, research career, personal, and professional skills. Participation in the THRIVE program helps you to find success and develop skills in your program. Workshops, events, and activities are available throughout the year.

The Accessible Learning Centre is a service which aims to accommodate students with documented disabilities to provide them with an equal opportunity to thrive and find success in their studies. They provide general advising, individualized learning plans, exam accommodations, assistive technologies, alternate format textbooks, funding assistance, tutors, academic strategists, and note takers. You can find the Accessible Learning Centre in University Hall (SU065).

Located in Anderson Hall (AH148), the Student Success Centre exists to provide you with resources, help, and professional support as you pursue your studies. The Student Success Centre offers a number of free services to undergraduate and graduate students to help you achieve personal and academic success. They can help you develop your study skills and learning strategies, present you with tutoring options, and provide workshops, events, and resources all aimed at ensuring your success as a student.

The Writing Centre is a resource available to all students, regardless of level of proficiency, to assist in strengthening writing skills. The Writing Centre offers one-on-one consultations with trained academic writing instructors and tutors, provides practical writing support, and helps you to understand a wide variety of writing assignments such as research papers, summaries, critical essays, literature reviews, annotated bibliographies, and lab reports. The Writing Centre offers assistance with formatting, thesis development, essay organization, and grammar and punctuation. This service is available to you free of charge. The Writing Centre is located in the library (L1010). You can schedule a consultation here.

Each Faculty has their own Academic Advisors who are available to offer students guidance, assistance, and information with program planning, selecting courses, and academic regulations. We recommend that you meet with an Academic Advisor at least once a year.

If you are looking to register in courses which are not listed in web registration or if you wish to change your program of study or your calendar year, consult with an Advisor in your faculty.
