- Don't miss our International Student Orientation Essentials session from 1 - 3 p.m. in PE250!
Send us a copy of your Study Permit!
- Submit a copy of your Study Permit to us by email or upload through the iCent app. Remember, if you don't complete this step, a hold will be placed on your account preventing registration in future semesters.
Request your Student ID Card
Take your passport to TH218 to pick up your ID card.
Set up your bank account
- To set up your bank account, you will need your study permit, passport, and proof of Lethbridge address. RBC on campus is a good option!
Update your contact information on the Bridge
- Update your current address in Lethbridge and add an emergency contact on the Bridge.
Register for Alberta Health Care
- Alberta Health Care covers the cost of basic health care services such as doctor appointments and hospital visits. It is important to apply for Alberta Health Care as early as possible.
- Bring your study permit, passport, and proof of Lethbridge address to any registry agent in Lethbridge. You can also apply for your Alberta ID card during the same visit!
Buy your Textbooks
Find the list of your required textbooks!
- You can find all your required textbooks in the ULethbridge Bookstore.
- For cost-friendly options, consider renting or buying used textbooks. You may also be able to find a cheaper version in secondhand stores, on Facebook marketplace, or digitally online.
Apply for your Social Insurance Number
- We will be hosting SIN Clinics on Campus on January 7 and 8. Bring your study permit and passport to our office (SU060).
- You can also apply online or at the Service Canada building.
Join a Student Club
See the list of student clubs!
- During the 2nd week of classes, clubs will promote themselves at booths around campus. Joining a club is a great way to meet new people and make friends!
Meet with an Academic Advisor
See how to contact your Academic Advisor
- An Academic Advisor can help you with any questions you have about course selection and program requirements. It's a good idea to visit an Academic Advisor at least once per semester.
Join an Intramurals Team
- An Intramural league is a sports league played on campus that is just for fun. Anyone can join, regardless of skill level. We will be hosting a Volleyball Division C team for this term!
Attend your Classes
- Classes start on Monday, January 6. If you want to change your schedule, see an Academic Advisor in your faculty. The deadline to add or drop classes is January 13.
Request a Mentor
- Request a mentor to guide you through your first term. Mentors are experienced ULethbridge volunteers who can help answer your questions about life at the University of Lethbridge and in Canada.
