Shining Students

SHINING STUDENTS

Share a Passion for Learning

Since 2017/18, students have been recognized as and participated in our Shining Student initiative. Many students are nominated in several academic years, but for this purpose, they are listed the first year they are nominated.

Our Shining Students are engaged inside and outside of the classroom. What makes a student shine may differ from person to person, but they all share a passion for learning. They may be top students or involved in an innovative project, or possibly they are participating in ground-breaking research, playing Pronghorn athletics, fighting for social issues or all of the above! When students find something they enjoy and combine it with what they are good at, they shine.

Each year we showcase Shining Students in several ways. For example, students may be profiled on the uNews website and/or in U of L publications. In addition, we invite them to participate in Open House and other events. Shining Students truly exemplify the U of L student spirit and their unique perspective is precisely what their peers want to hear about.

The University is located on traditional Blackfoot Confederacy territory. We honour the Blackfoot people and their traditional ways of knowing in caring for this land, as well as all Aboriginal peoples who have helped shape and continue to strengthen our University community.
