Crohn’s and Colitis Canada is delighted to announce the launch of its 2021 Grants-in-Aid of Research (GIA) Competition. The GIA program supports research projects directly related to IBD that are aligned with Crohn’s and Colitis Canada’s Promise and strategic directions. Funding is limited to a maximum of $125,000 per year, for up to three years, contingent upon available funds.
Applications to Crohn’s and Colitis Canada’s Grants-in-Aid of Research competition are submitted through a two-stage application process. Applicants must submit a Notice of Intent to Apply (NOI) via the online application.
Investigators who hold an academic appointment at a Canadian University in a Faculty of Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Veterinary Medicine, or other Graduate Faculty are eligible to apply to Crohn’s and Colitis Canada as principal investigator for grant support of their research. Beginning with the 2021 Grants-in-Aid of Research competition, Principal Investigators may not hold more than a cumulative total of $250,000 a year in extramural funding (includes foundation and industry support) unless they are in their final year of funding. Intramural funds are not counted towards this total.
