Alberta Smithsonian Internship Program
Work alongside scholars, scientists, and researchers with the esteemed Smithsonian Institute in Washington, D.C.
The Washington Center Internship
Work in prominent organizations in the government, business, and non-profit sectors of Washington, D.C.
Shastri Alberta Students in India
Spend 8 weeks in India developing practical skills related to your studies in business, computer science, psychology, environmental sciences, and more! The Shastri Institute currently offers 30 projects for 30 students from across Alberta. If selected, you will receive an $8,500 grant to cover most expenses.

Mitacs RISE-Globalink Research Internship
Participate in a research project supervised by a doctoral student at a German university or research institution. Fields include biology, chemistry, computer science, engineering, earth science, and physics.

Language Programs
Explore Program
Explore is a five-week French intensive language-immersion course offered in the spring and summer. Participants in Explore receive a bursary that covers course fees, instructional materials, meals, accommodations, workshops, and cultural activities. You can choose your destination from many regions across Canada.
Enjoy five weeks of learning and adventure, friendship and discovery!

Visiting Student Program
Study for a semester at a French or Spanish speaking university where English is not the primary language. Participants in a VSP take a maximum of five transfer courses at a host university and register at the University of Lethbridge in French 2250 or Spanish 2250.
French Visiting Student Program (FVSP)
B.A. French or French/Spanish students are encouraged to participate in the FVSP.
Spanish Visiting Student Program (SVSP)
B.A. French/Spanish student are encouraged to participate in the SVSP.
North American Language and Culture Assistants Program (NALCAP)
Teach English at an elementary or secondary school in Spain through the NALCAP program! Placements are offered all across Spain, in practically every city and town in the country, running from October 1 to May 31 for most assignments.

Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Program
Serve at a local authority or teach English at public or private elementary, junior high, or senior high school in Japan!
Students must complete a bachelor's degree in any field of study by departure. See the JET website for more eligibility requirements.

Semester at Sea
Travel by sea, learn from leading faculty and international experts, and visit up to 15 countries in a single semester.
The Brawn Family Foundation has made a generous gift to provide one scholarship per year for a University of Lethbridge student to participate in the Semester at Sea program.
International Experience Canada
Interested in work and travel? The Government of Canada's International Experience Canada program provides young Canadians aged 18-35 a chance to live abroad, gain work experience, and immerse themselves in new cultures. The program has over 35 partner countries and territories across the world.
