City Scholars (City of Lethbridge)

Connecting Students with Community Impact

Work-Integrated Learning with the City of Lethbridge

What is City Scholars?

City Scholars creates a unique opportunity for collaboration through Work-Integrated Learning (WIL). City projects provide students with hands-on workplace experience, structured around both professional and academic outcomes. Students can participate in projects with the City through:

  • Applied Studies
  • Co-op
  • Courses
  • Projects
  • Internships

Applied Studies provide opportunities for students to take on short-term research projects. Students receive both professional and academic work plans, as well as supervision by a City project lead and faculty member. Typical outcomes include research papers, policy briefs, and presentations.

Why Participate?

  • Develop workplace skills and apply academic knowledge
  • Access professional and academic mentorship
  • Network with prospective employers
  • Learn about municipal governance and business practices

Get Involved

Find opportunities to get involved by looking at the University of Lethbridge's Student Job Board or Co-op Job Board (once in the Co-op program) through MyExperience.
