Make an Impact in Your Community While You Learn
Turn your studies into action!
Community & Change is an interdisciplinary Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) course open to students from all programs. In this course, you’ll bring your academic background and apply it to real-world community projects in partnership with the City of Lethbridge. Through research, collaboration, and civic engagement, you’ll help address local challenges connected to global sustainability goals.
What You’ll Do
Work as an interdisciplinary consultant group for the City of Lethbridge.
Investigate local challenges provided by the City of Lethbridge.
Conduct applied research using academic sources, grey literature, and interviews with:
City employees
Community organizations
Residents
Elders or Cultural Knowledge Keepers
Present findings and recommendations to the City of Lethbridge and at the City Scholars Symposium.
Course Offers

Requirements
Second-year standing
Minimum 2.5 GPA
Commitment of 60 hours with a community partner
