You can work full-time during scheduled breaks (including the summer break) if you are enrolled as full-time student (9 credits or more) in the term before and after the scheduled break.

Yes, there is a scheduled break between April 17 – September 7. During the break, students can work full-time if meeting certain conditions.
If you were a full-time undergraduate student in Winter 2025 and you will be a full-time undergraduate student in Fall 2025, you can work full-time time during summer break.
If you are completing your studies in Winter 2025 or Summer 2025, the summer is not a scheduled break for you. You will be able to work 24 hours/week off-campus, until you complete your program.
There is no maximum number of hours you can work per week in the summer, meaning eligible students can work any number of hours if the employer follows Alberta employment standards regulations.
Yes, if you meet the eligibility requirements mentioned above, you can work full-time during the Summer regardless of how many summer courses you are taking.
Students who have maintained full-time status for the duration of their program of study, and who only require a part-time course load in their final academic session in order to complete their program of study, are allowed to work full-time during the regularly scheduled break before their last semester and are allowed to work off campus up to 24 hours per week during their final academic session.
