PHAC 3850 Physical Literacy Among Youth in Vietnam

PHAC 3850 Physical Literacy Among Youth in Vietnam

Program Dates: Spring 2024 and Summer Session II

Apply the principles of physical literacy in a unique environment

Teach activities and fundamental movement patterns to children in Vietnam

Learn the history and culture of Vietnam from a kinesiology and sociocultural perspective to effectively collaborate

Must be at least 3rd year standing or have taken one of of PHAC 3020 or PHAC 3030 Movement Literacy

Incorporate aspects of research, marketing, and fundraising in preparation for the trip practicum

There is an estimated course fee of $7,000 (this will pay for your tuition, flight, accommodations, most meals, and transportations while in Vietnam)

Eligible U of L students who participate in this summer program will receive up to $5,000 through the Global Skills Opportunity program.

Class fundraiser of $1,500 - $2,500 for legacy sport equipment

  • Monday, October 23, 2023 | 14:00
  • Tuesday, October 24, 2023 | 14:00
  • Wednesday, October 25, 2023 | 17:30

Important Dates:

  • October 25: Application opens
  • November 17: Application deadline
  • November 20-24: Application review and interviews (if needed)
  • December 4-8: Acceptance notification
  • December 15: $500 NON-refundable deposit
  • February 1: $1,500 deposit and last chance to opt out of the program
  • March 1: GSO Award application deadline (on Bridge)
  • April 1: $2000 payment towards trip cost
  • June 1: tuition fee payment deadline
  • July 9 or 10: Depart for Vietnam
  • July 30 or 31: Return to Canada
