Therapeutic recreation (TR) helps people gain independence, optimal health and well-being using positive support plans, education and leisure activities. A TR career involves:

  • working with people who have cognitive, physical, emotional and social disabilities
  • planning accessible, abilities-based recreational experiences
  • teaching health and wellness
  • reducing/removing barriers to health and wellness activities

NOTE: This is a post-diploma program. To enter the Bachelor of Therapeutic Recreation, you must already have a related, approved diploma or degree.
