These fees are subject to change. Current U of L fees can be seen in the fees section of the academic calendar.

Health Insurance

All exchange students require sufficient (either statutory or private) health insurance to be able to enrol at the university and/or to apply for their residence permit.
Travel health insurance does not qualify as sufficient health insurance!

The International Office will inform students about further Health Insurance details after the deadline for applications.

General information about the German health insurance system can be found here: http://www.1a.net/krankenversicherung/international

Students from countries outside Europe and countries which the Federal Republic of Germany does not have a social security agreement with must produce evidence of sufficient health insurance. To do so, they can take out student health insurance with a statutory health insurance company here in Germany. Otherwise, they must present their insurance contract to a German statutory health insurance company to obtain exemption from compulsory health insurance.

With the appropriate EU-Certificate or proof of private insurance you need to go to a statutory health insurance company in Munich. There you will get the necessary proof of health insurance needed for enrolment and the application for a residence permit (please make sure to request two copies).

As representatives from German statutory health insurance companies usually attend the orientation events, evidence of health insurance can also be obtained directly at Munich University of Applied Sciences.
