About the Program

Want to improve your Japanese language skills? What better way than taking a language course right in Tokyo! The program is best suited for those with little to no knowledge of the Japanese language. Courses are offered at the "beginner" and "introductory" level. Classes include cultural activities and workshops, and there are optional cultural events outside of class. There will be opportunities to interact with local Rikkyo students too!

Cost

Included in Program Fee

The fee of JPY 150,000 (approx. CAD 1,400) for 2024 includes lectures, accommodations for the entire program, and activities/trips.

Not Included in Program Fee

The program fee does not include U of L tuition for the the course (approx. $900), travel between Canada and Japan, and other living/personal expenses such as food.

Application Process

  1. Attend an upcoming info session.
  2. Apply to the summer exchange program on MyExperience under Campus Programs.
  3. We will review applications after the February 1 deadline and contact you with steps to apply to the partner if you are accepted.
