The Land of Ice and Fire
Centuries of Iceland’s geologic history is revealed in a cross-section at Jökulsárlón lagoon, where dark layers of volcanic ash from past eruptions are preserved in the pale, icy blue layers of Breiðamerkurjökull glacier.
This picture was taken near my hometown northwest of Edmonton called Onoway. I was out checking cows with my Mom and there was a storm that was coming through. We sat in front of this candle field for at least twenty minutes to get this picture and it’s one of my favourites that I’ve ever taken.
