The summer before my last year at university felt as if I was in a limitless space, hovering on the brink of the unknown. During this time I became fascinated with looking towards the sky. The almost ever present clouds always seemed so far, and yet so close. Sometimes thin, stretched, and moving with the unseen wind, thousands of miles above what could be felt. And sometimes massive, fluffy beasts, hovering silently, seemingly untouched. The way they caught the light of sunset, with vibrant pinks, yellows and blues streaking across them. It became a habit to capture the sky every day through photography in an effort to preserve the unexplainable feeling it gave, during this seemingly gravatus time in my life. Using the images I have collected over the summer as a springboard, my work is intuitive, working to let the paintings and prints emerge on their own.
