Because of you, Abbondànza raised more than $100,000 this year.
Abbondànza raised over $100,000 for the Abbondànza Endowment, with support from scholarship pledges, auction items, ticket sales and sponsorships.
The event proceeds, matched by the University Board of Governors through the Scholarship Match Campaign, go to the Abbondànza Experiential Learning Award. The award was created in 2025 to give Fine Arts students Work-Integrated Learning opportunities. This year's investment works out to $6,000 in new awards for students.
Behind Every Award is a Story Shaped by Your Support
The Abbondànza award allowed me to fly to Toronto to integrate with a large group of diaspora Filipino artists to learn traditional Filipino weaving techniques. This is the first time that this was offered in Canada and I was immersed with other artists that looked and felt like me. There are very few Filipino artists in Alberta so our conversations were life evolving and resonated in very deep ancestral ways.
