Guest Seating & Accessibility

  • Guest seating is first come, first served. 
  • No tickets are required.
  • There is no limit to how many guests can accompany a graduate.
  • Doors will open for rush seating one hour prior to the start of each ceremony. There is often a line prior to doors opening.
  • Please note that food and drinks are NOT permitted in the gymnasium during ceremonies.
  • Please do not leave empty seats/spaces between guests. 
    • We want to ensure that as many guests as possible are able to sit with their groups. By moving a spot over, you provide the opportunity for two or more people to sit together.
Accommodated Seating

For those who require seating accommodations (e.g., wheelchair access), there are designated areas at the top of the bleachers on both the north and south sides of the gymnasium. 

  • Enter the north doors (track-level) of the Co-op Centre for Sport & Wellness by Tim Hortons.
  • Just past the Tim Hortons will be glass walls and doors - these doors will be the entrance.
  • When doors open, please advise our ushers that you require accessible seating, and they will guide you to a spot.
  • IMPORTANT: You may only bring one guest with you (who does not require accessible seating). 
    • This is because we have limited accessible seating, and many guests require these seats for their safety. 
    • If you are concerned about being separated from your group, please speak with our ushers.
    • Alternatives may involve sitting in chairs on the track.

Worried About Noise, Movement, or Needing to Leave Early?

There is also a livestream and family room (PE264) located directly across the hall from the track doors.

This is where guests can go if they:

  • have little ones that may be loud or require extra movement.
  • will be arriving late or leaving early.
  • need frequent movement breaks.
  • need or prefer a quieter environment.

The room will have pencil crayons, colouring pages, and a livestream of the ceremony cast from a projector. 

Parents or guardians must accompany children at all times, whether they are in the gymnasium or in the family room.
