This really should be no more than one of two sentences and is intended to capture why the centre or institute has been created and really speaks to the public and/or community impact the centre or institute intends to have.
List your key objectives and Activities *
A bullet style listing of no more than 5 elements that are general enough in tone to flesh out the purpose statement, but would focus on at least 3 areas including:
- How the centre or institute contributes to or addresses the needs of end users (community, government, business),
- How the centre contributes to scholarship, research and knowledge, which really is a focus of what is to be gained by the researchers, students, collaborators within the centre of institute, and
- How the centre or institute contributes to, enhances, provides new opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students in learning, training, application of knowledge, etc.
