Registration Guide
Registration Guide
The most important thing to do before your first day of classes is register! This is when you choose the courses you will take in your first term at ULethbridge.
Course selection and registration are really exciting, but can also be overwhelming the first time. Student Enrolment and Registrar Services (SEARS) provides many resources to help students navigate the registration process. Whether you are a new or continuing student, parent, or counsellor, you will find the registration information you need here.
Thinking about changing your undergraduate program before registration? Students are strongly advised to speak with an academic advisor prior to making changes to their program of study.
As a new student, there are two steps to complete before you can register for courses:
Set up Your Campus Login
You will use this username and password to log in to the Bridge, as well as many other important tools at uLethbridge, including your email, library account and Moodle. It is a good idea to change your password regularly at www.ulethbridge.ca/web-tools.
The Bridge is an essential tool and resource for every uLethbridge student. In the Bridge you have access to your personal information, admission status, registration, tuition and fees, exam schedules, personal contact information, scholarship applications and more.
If you have not already done so, set up your campus login:
- Have your nine-digit uLethbridge ID number (from your Offer of Admission Letter) available.
- Go to www.ulethbridge.ca/loginsetup.
- Follow the steps to select a username, password and security questions from the menu on the right.
Accept Your Offer
To confirm your Offer of Admission and pay your tuition deposit by the deadline date indicated on your emailed offer letter, visit the Bridge. If you are not able to accept online, please see the Confirmation of Admission page included in your emailed offer letter.
If your offer has expired contact the Admissions Office. They will let you know if your offer can be extended and/or how to proceed.
Complete the Sexual Violence Prevention Training (SVPT) module
The training takes approximately 45 minutes to complete: Start course.
All ULethbridge students must take this training to register in courses. It is not an annual requirement; students must complete the training once.
The University of Lethbridge is committed to the values of diversity, equity and inclusion; sexual and gender-based violence undermines these values. We have proudly endorsed the Universities Canada’s Inclusive Excellence Principles. This mandatory training reflects our commitment to a safe and healthy environment for all members of the University community.
All students who haven’t completed the training will have a Registration Hold placed on their accounts. Students will still receive their registration time ticket but will be unable to register. Once the training has been completed, it may take up to 24 hours for the system to update and reinstate registration privileges. Students with a Registration Hold won’t be able to register for courses until the training has been completed.
You can find resources on the website or contact sexualviolenceinfo@uleth.ca.
Did You Know? Once you are registered in courses you are responsible for the associated tuition and fees. If you are unable to attend the University of Lethbridge you must drop your courses before the extended drop deadline (see Academic Schedule). Visit the How to Register page.
For newly admitted Nursing students, i.e.:
- First-and Second-year Bachelor of Nursing and
- First-year Bachelor of Nursing (After Degree),
although you are considered a ULethbridge student during the first portion of your program, Lethbridge Polytechnic will provide course registration information during this time.
Open Studies allows you to take courses for general interest without being formally admitted to a university program.
Courses taken as an Open Studies student will appear on your transcript as credit courses completed. Your registration dates are later than most students and you will only have access to courses as space permits. For Open Studies registration dates check the Academic Schedule.
As an Open Studies student you may apply for formal admission or readmission to a program at any time. Courses completed as an Open Studies Student will be included in the admission decision process.
For information on courses offered for the current registration term, see Open Studies Courses.
For information regarding eligibility and other conditions applying to Open Studies, see Registration in the Academic Calendar.
Becoming an Open Studies student is four simple steps:
Did You Know? These steps must be repeated each term you want to attend as an Open Studies student.
- Complete an Open Studies Registration Form. If you prefer, these can be picked up at the SEARS office in Lethbridge or at the campus office in Calgary.
- Drop off the completed form, and any required documentation as outlined on the back of the form, to the SEARS office in Lethbridge or at the campus office in Calgary up until the add/drop deadline. If you do not have a uLethbridge ID number, one will be assigned to you at this time.
- Pay the $80 tuition deposit and $60 registration fee (both are non-refundable) at the SEARS office in Lethbridge or at the campus office in Calgary. The tuition deposit is applied towards your tuition fees.
- Once you receive confirmation of your registration eligibility you can register on your specified dates listed in the Bridge. How to find my dates?
If you intend to audit an undergraduate course you must complete and submit an Audit Registration form to the SEARS office. For audit student registration dates check the Academic Schedule. For more information see the Registration section of the ULethbridge Undergraduate Academic Calendar.
If you are a ULethbridge student planning to study elsewhere you must obtain written approval from your advising office prior to beginning your studies. You will be registered in a placeholder course during your approved absence from ULethbridge. This will allow you to retain your continuing student registration privileges. Remember to register during your assigned registration period for the fall or winter term following your approved absence.
If you would like to extend your approved absence, you must obtain prior approval from the appropriate academic advising office on the Lethbridge campus or the Calgary campus. Otherwise, you will forfeit your registration privileges and you will need to reapply for admission.
Although you are taking courses on the ULethbridge Lethbridge campus you are a University of Calgary student. The University of Calgary will provide course registration information and assistance. For more information, please contact the Faculty of Social Work (Lethbridge Division) at 403-329-2794.
Students with documented disabilities can receive support through the Accessible Learning Centre.
Once you have received your confirmation of admission contact Accessible Learning Centre as soon as possible to begin the registration process and coordinate your accommodations. If you are unable to use the Bridge due to an accessibility need, you may register for courses in person at the SEARS office on the Lethbridge campus or your campus office in Calgary. Visit the Accessible Learning Centre website for more information or call 403-329-2766.
If you are registered with the Accessible Learning Centre, you can request to receive the earliest registration date available for your number of credit hours completed.
