Rikki-Lee Norman, Tattoo Studio

Throughout my art education, I have come to appreciate the human body. And even before that I loved the idea of tattoos on the body. When I was in high school, I aspired to be a tattoo artist.

I have also gained an admiration for screen printing. Screen printing is meticulous with the placement of each layer, it interests me when a mistake is made, and I just go with it. Screen printing is both a process for the perfectionist and the laid-back mentality that I have.

Tattoo work is more linked to painting which I found interesting when I “flattened” a 2D work even more onto a 2D painting of a body on the wall.
