Who are the Traveling Lab Coats and What is a TLC workshop?

Destination Exploration's Traveling Lab Coats are UofL instructors who deliver engaging and hands-on science and technology workshops throughout the school year across Southern Alberta. Workshop topics support curriculum outcomes and aim to bring what you're learning in school to life! Please note they have not been updated to meet the new AB curriculum - we're working on it. TLC workshops can be booked by ANYONE, including teachers, educators, libraries, homeschool families or Girl Guide and other extracurricular groups.

The best part is TLC instructors travel! We'll come out to classrooms anywhere from Pincher Creek to Bow Island and Milk River to Champion. Note that a $50 travel fee is added for those outside a 30km radius and we ask that you book a minimum of 3 workshops. If you're looking to include us in a field trip, DE runs out of the Outreach Facility in the UofL Science Commons and is a great local option for your kiddos. We can also host your class/grade/school for year-end trips and can help schedule a trip to the pool (May & June only)!

Why book a TLC workshop? We don't require parent volunteers, we'll bring everything we need and it's just $100 for the hour. We can introduce a topic, recap the students learning or ignite the spark of curiosity in the middle of the unit.
