Steph Elder
Steph is our Interim Director of Youth Outreach for the Faculty of Arts & Science. They have a degree in Civil Engineering and Management from McMaster University and have been sharing their love for engineering and STEM with youth since 2013. In her spare time, you’ll find her playing the guitar, exploring the area, or just hanging around playing some video games. They're a kid at heart and aren’t afraid to get a little messy for the sake of science.

Danny Cuadra
Danny is our Program Coordinator! They have dual degrees in Math & Education from the University of Lethbridge and have always had a passion for sharing their love of science and STEM with youth by tying it into their hobbies and interest, showing kids how video games, sports, and the world around them are filled with science. In their spare time you’ll find them reading, playing games, doing some painting, or spending time with their cat. They’re always ready to jump in on anything new and they love finding adventures to explore and learn new things.

Deserae Tailfeathers
Deserae (Iitsissaana’wa - Seen Standing in Front) is one of our Indigenous STEM (InSTEM) Coordinators! She is a Blackfoot member of the Kainai community within Treaty 7. She has a degree in Biological Science from the University of Lethbridge and experience in cancer cell research. She is passionate about bridging STEM with Indigenous science through cultural and land-based education for youth. She has a love for powwow dancing, reading, and medicinal plants. She is excited about fostering a learning environment for kids which can bring Indigenous science and STEM education together.

Alex McEwan
Alex is one of our Indigenous STEM (InSTEM) Coordinators. Having completed a combined degree program in History & Education from the University of Lethbridge. Finding connections between the world of STEM and History was always exciting to Alex, and he is passionate about sharing these connections with youth. In his off time, Alex enjoys camping, fishing, and all things outdoors, when not outside he will be found tinkering with computers and 3D printers to build all sorts of gadgets. Alex is always looking to turn crazy ideas to awesome experiences with students who are ready to explore.

LUKE
Luke (he/him) is back this year as our Camp Coordinator! He recently finished his Computer Science Degree. He loves everything technology, sports and science. Luke is looking to spread his passion for technology in this advancing world with growing minds. You can find Luke hanging out in the Science commons, the computer labs and playing Soccer on campus. He’s looking forward to meeting you all!

ATHENA
Athena (she/her) is one of your instructors at DE. She is currently working towards obtaining a Bachelors of Science in Chemistry at the University of Lethbridge. She is very enthusiastic in sharing her passion for Chemistry and making STEM enjoyable for everyone. In her free time, Athena loves listening to music, hanging out with friends and playing with their kitten, Nala.

BRIA
Bria (she/they) is one of your instructors at DE. She is working towards an education degree and a science degree at the University of Lethbridge. She loves biology, chemistry, and dinosaurs. In her free time, she enjoys reading, playing her guitar, dance, and playing with her dog, Charlie. Bria is super excited to share her love for science this summer!

CALEB
Caleb (he/him) is one of your instructors at DE. He is currently working towards a bachelor’s in Biochemistry with a minor in Computer Science. Caleb enjoys getting his hands deep into various projects and learning new concepts from a wide range of topics. Oftentimes you can find him within the glass panes of the Agility Innovation Zone underneath DE, working on a project. Sometimes, you might find Caleb reading nonfiction and playing video games. He looks forward to making laughs and smiles this summer!

CHELSEY
Chelsey (she/her) is one of your instructors at DE. She has recently just finished up a Bachelor of Science in the General Sciences as well as a Bachelor of Education combined degree at the University of Lethbridge. She has a passion for all things science and wants to share her knowledge and experiences with other young growing minds. In her free time, you can find her spending countless hours with her horses, hanging out with family and friends, or just enjoying the great outdoors!

ELORA
Elora (she/they) is one of your instructors at DE. They are working towards a Bachelor of Education in the Early Years program at the University of Lethbridge. They hope to become an elementary school teacher but love sharing science with all ages. They are interested in lots of different areas in science and are excited to share their knowledge with the scientists of the future. In their free time you can find them doing puzzles, playing board games, or hanging out with friends and family.

ESTHER
Esther (she/her) is one of your instructors at DE. She is currently working towards a Bachelor of Nursing degree at the University of Lethbridge. She loves being around kids of all ages and enjoys sharing her passion for math and science. In her free time, you can find her spending time with friends and family. She is excited to help inspire the next generation of scientists and problem-solvers!

ETHAN
Ethan (he/him) is one of your instructors at DE. He is currently working towards a science education degree with a focus in chemistry. He loves chemistry and the hands on approach and wants to inspire others like some amazing teachers he had in high school! He was born in Cochrane and quickly grew fond of the outdoors especially the mountains. He enjoys all things sports - especially football. In his free time, you'll find him playing games, cooking, or going for a walk outdoors! Ethan is looking forward to a STEM filled summer where everyone can have fun and find their spark!

HANNAH
Hannah (she/her) is one of your instructors at DE! She is working towards her bachelors in Early Elementary Education at the University of Lethbridge. Hannah is passionate about helping young minds explore the abundance of STEM in their everyday lives and is excited to share with them her passion for all things STEM (especially biology)! In her free time Hannah is an avid long distance runner, a lover of historical fiction novels, and an amateur gardener!

Keisha (she/her) is one of your outreach instructors on the InSTEM team!

KRISTEN
Kristen, Sikiosiipistoo (Last Owl), is one of your outreach instructors on the InSTEM team! Kristen is a proud member of the Blackfoot community. She is passionate about sharing her culture, language, and knowledge with youth, and she finds deep purpose in supporting students through Indigenous STEM education. She holds a Bachelor of Management from the University of Lethbridge but has discovered her true calling in education. Kristen loves working with students of all ages and is excited to help inspire the next generation of learners and leaders through InSTEM.

SAMMY
Sammy (she/her) is one of your outreach instructors on the InSTEM team! She is currently working towards a degree in Early Years Education at the University of Lethbridge with the goal to become a kindergarten teacher. Sammy loves to learn new things and is looking forward to sharing her passion of all things science this summer. In her free time you can find her reading a book or hanging out with her family.
