Archaeology (BA) / Archaeology & Geography (BSc)
STUDY ARCHAEOLOGY
The study of past human cultures and societies through the analysis of material remains.
Archaeology at the University of Lethbridge combines fieldwork, laboratory analysis, and interdisciplinary research to help students understand past human cultures and societies. Through the interpretation of material remains and artifacts, archaeologists uncover evidence that helps us better understand our past and what it can teach us about the present.
As a student of archaeology, you will explore many aspects of archaeological interpretation and have opportunities to put these skills into practice both in the field and in the laboratory. You will engage with a range of theoretical and methodological approaches, gaining a balanced and in-depth understanding of the discipline.
In addition to the core courses of the program, students can expand their studies into related areas such as anthropology, languages, human geography, physical geography, geology, GIS, and remote sensing.
