Applying for Student Aid Alberta (loans and grants)

Applying for funding:

  • Loan applications available after mid-June for classes starting after August 1.
  • Apply on-line via: : Alberta Student Aid
  • Apply for Part-time student loans

After you receive your student loan:

Creating accounts for both your Alberta and Canada loan:

Once you have access to each of the above accounts you can then:

  • review the status of your student loan(s)
  • check your loan balance(s). You can also review the Bridge
  • find out the status of your loan payments
  • change your address/contact information
  • receive helpful information about your loan(s) in your Personal Message Centre
  • Customize Your Repayment: Request to increase or decrease your monthly payment
  • Get Repayment Assistance: If you are not able to enter repayment as scheduled, you may qualify for the Repayment Assistance Plan.  Under the RAP, you may have your payments lowered to an amount you can afford, or repayment may be deferred up to a further 6 months.
