Recruiting athletes

If you are interested in trying out for a varsity team the best thing you can do is contact the coach early on. Coaches recruit the majority of Pronghorn student athletes prior to the start of the season. However, each varsity team will hold an open try-out in the weeks leading up to their season.

Employment & Volunteer Opportunities

Employment Opportunities

Pronghorn Athletics and Horns Recreation offer part-time employment opportunities for students to work in a variety of positions, including customer service, Pronghorn event staff, facility operations staff, lifeguards, intramural supervisors and referees, summer camp leaders, and more.

Volunteer Opportunities

Pronghorn Athletic Therapy actively recruits kinesiology students to fulfill the role of student therapists/trainers every year. We require that our student ATs have taken, or to be taking KNES 3350 - Recognition & Care of Athletic Injuries, along with Standard First Aid & BLS CPR.  These students are placed with Pronghorn teams to provide on site care to athletes during practices & games, with additional opportunities for practical experience in the clinic setting.

Placements with a Pronghorn team can be used towards an applied study, for course credit. These practical experiences can also be used toward the volunteer hour requirements for Athletic Therapy, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, & Medical School applications.
