Applied Consulting
Overview
This program teaches you how to work as a consultant. Students find real value in assisting businesses or community organizations in addressing current organizational problems.
Focus
Our community-based initiative provides you with experience and knowledge interaction with the business community. The application of classroom learning to these dynamic situations provides unique challenges to the students, and it results in a more complete understanding of the nature of the business environment.
How it works
The Consulting Program consists of a two-course complement. Most students take the consulting theory course Management (Mgt) 3901 at least one semester before taking the applied consulting course Mgt 4901.
The theory course gives students a thorough understanding of consulting as both a process and an occupational specialty.
During the second course, teams of students apply this knowledge on semester-long consulting assignments where they assist a community organization in addressing a specific problem it faces.
Mgt 4901 is offered annually in Lethbridge and as needed on the other campuses.
