You will receive a Unit Inspection Form (UIF) via DocuSign, which must be completed within 48 hours of moving in.

This form records the condition of your accommodation, including any existing damage or missing inventory items. It will be used to determine responsibility for any damages to your room, unit, or furnishings, particularly during the move-out process and when assessing your Damage Deposit.

Important: The Unit Inspection Form is only for documenting existing damage or issues at move-in. If new issues arise during the school year, please submit a Maintenance Request.

Meet your Residence Assistant (RA), who will live right in your section of residence. Your RA can answer any questions you may have about your new home.

Room changes are not permitted during the first two or last four weeks of the term. Following the first two weeks of a term, you may request a room change, though we will encourage you to work through any potential roommate conflicts with your RAs prior to approving any room change requests.

Note: There is a $50 processing fee.

Prepping for Move-In

Things to help plan for your journey here!

Complete Online Check-In:

Online check-in opens in mid-July. Keep an eye out in your ULethbridge email for the exact date! Completing your online check-in will save you time on move-in day, as you can request residence-related services ahead of time. You can reserve your textbooks, look into your dining plan, purchase a HERD membership, get a parking pass, and calculate your total housing costs.

After going through this process, payments can be made through online banking or other payment methods listed by Financial Services.

Textbooks, Course Materials, & ULethbridge swag:

Click on the textbook reservation link to have all your textbooks ready for pickup when you arrive. You can also order some ULethbridge swag too!

Dining Plan Selection:

All first-year students will automatically be enrolled in the commuter plan, with an option to upgrade to the standard dining plan. Continuing students will have an option to purchase one should they wish.

HERD Membership:

The HERD is a student-led fan club that passionately follows U of L Pronghorn Athletics throughout the year. With over 600 members, the HERD is known as the largest and rowdiest student section in Canada West.

Parking Passes:

If you have a vehicle, you can purchase a parking permit for the upcoming academic year. If you do not purchase one during online check-in, you will have to contact Parking Services to purchase one from them.

Housing Fees:

At the end of check-in, you will be able to see your total housing costs. Payments can be made either via online bank payment, debit payment, etc.

If you’re living with roommates and want to connect before move-in, email us at housing@uleth.ca after August 15 with your contact information (email, Instagram, Snapchat, phone number, etc.). We’ll pass it along, and hopefully, they’ll reach out—or you can make the first move!

It’s a great way to plan your space, decide if you’ll share items like a fridge or kitchen supplies, and get to know each other before move-in day.

For PCs, apply all Windows Critical Updates just before leaving home through Windows Update so that your updates are current when you arrive. Ensure that your antivirus software is current. If you don’t have antivirus software we recommend that you download and install Microsoft Security Essentials from the Microsoft website. It’s free and protects your computer from viruses and spyware.

Computer Questions:

If you have questions or difficulty connecting to the ULethbridge network/wifi when you arrive, please contact the IT Help Desk at 403-329-2490, or visit the office in Turcotte Hall TH218, or email them at help@uleth.ca.

  • Social activities with friends and/or roommates
  • Additional school supplies
  • Travel (taxi, Red Arrow bus, etc.)
  • Laundry Budgeting (Per semester):
  • Laundry costs $2 per washer and $2 per dryer cycle.
  • If you were to do laundry bi-weekly with two loads per washer and dryer, you would need to budget a minimum of $64 per semester onto your bridge bucks.
  • Cost-saving & environmentally friendly laundry tips:
    • Air dry your laundry after washing (not only are you saving on energy, but you are also extending the longevity of your clothes!).
    • Stay on top of your laundry so you avoid big loads that don't dry (big loads are NOT cost-effective!)
    • Check your clothing symbols. Do they have to be hand-washed in the sink?
    • Check the lint trap before drying clothes; this ensures your clothes will dry properly (and avoid causing fires)

Please plan well in advance prior to your arrival. Students are only permitted to move-in during their booked time-slot, and are not allowed any overnight guests for the first two weeks of any given term.

For a list of places to stay, check out Visit Lethbridge.

Please Note:

Residence rooms are not available prior to your designated move-in day and time; not even for storage

of items. If you require accommodation prior to the official move-in day, please book off-campus accommodation early as local hotels and motels book up quickly.
