Lost something? Need to report an incident or get help? Working alone at night? Need a safe walk to your car? Security Services can help.

The University of Lethbridge Security Services are responsible for protecting your personal security. Our security officers are familiar with the campus, buildings and people, and are able to respond quickly to any incidents including medical emergencies.

They offer a variety of programs and workshops that ensure that all students and staff members on campus feel safe. Security Services operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and is the only 24/7, 365 days/year organization on campus

Services include:

  • Crime Prevention; Education & Programs
  • Security Patrols
  • Closed Circuit Television
  • Access to Security Staff 24/7
  • First Aid
  • Key Tags
  • Lost and Found
  • Safe Walk
  • Working Alone Web System
  • And more!

Key Tags

We offer a free key tag service to students, faculty and staff that works like the War Amps key tag program to ensure the safe return of your keys if they are lost. Keys are matched to each owner by a tag provided by the Security Office. It's secure and confidential. Visit the Security Office (Room L911, Library) to get one.

Working Alone

ome students choose to work after regular hours. Buildings have been made secure in accordance with University standards, and most spaces are equipped with a phone or pay phones that have a direct line to Campus Security who are readily available in case of emergency.

Anyone working alone on campus is strongly encouraged to register with the Working Alone System Login which allows Security to keep track of students in a specific area at the University in case of an emergency.

Safe Walk

Students are also advised to make appropriate use of the campus Safe Walk service. We offer escorts from anywhere on campus to anywhere on campus. Safe Walk teams consist of one male and one female student. The program runs form late September until late April.

Operating hours:
Monday to Friday, 8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.
Sunday from 8:30 to 11 p.m.

Additionally, Security Services will provide escorts to students outside of Safe Walk hours. Call 403-329-2345 to arrange a safe walk to your vehicle.

Lost and Found

Security Services offers a Lost and Found service. If you lose anything on campus, check there first to see if someone has turned the item in. If you've lost your student identification card and someone turns it in, Security Services will automatically contact you.
