Rotman International Trading Competition

RITC Logo
The Rotman International Trading Competition (RITC) is the world’s premier student trading competition, hosted annually by the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto.

Overview | Rotman School | University of Toronto

In Toronto | Feb. 19 - 21, 2026

Compete with peers from 40+ universities across North America, Europe, the Middle East and Asia, using Decision Cases based on real-world conditions delivered on the industry-leading RIT Market Simulator platform.

The Dhillon School of Business can only send one team to compete at RITC and we want that team to be the best finance students that we have. We may hold a qualifier competition (contingent on interest), but first we need to know who is interested. The chosen team will be comprised of four to five students.

The cost of transportation from Lethbridge to Toronto, the hotel, and competition registration will be covered.

What is involved?

To be eligible for the team you need to:

  • Be enrolled as a Dhillon School of Business student;
  • Be in third year standing (min 20 courses completed);
  • Have FINC 3412 or FINC 3460 completed with a grade of B- or better;
  • Have effective communication skills;
  • Be able to commit time to the team during February reading week; and
  • Have a valid government ID for traveling via flights between Calgary and Toronto.

The following is a list of important dates, deadlines and time commitment expectations:

  • Application deadline: Nov. 20, 2025.
  • Invitations to the qualifying applicants will be sent out shortly after.
  • Mini competition for applicants from Nov. 24 to Dec. 4. 2025.
  • Invitations to join the team representing ULethbridge in Toronto will be sent out shortly after.
  • Minimum one hour spent with the coach every Friday in January and February until competition.
  • Team training schedule will be determined by student schedules in January and February.
  • The team is expected meet often to practice.
  • Fly to Toronto to compete Feb. 19 – 21, 2026.

What’s in it for me?

RITC offers an unparalleled opportunity to apply classroom concepts in a realistic market environment, network with peers from leading global institutions, and gain exposure to industry professionals. Participants leave with enhanced confidence, technical skills, and a deeper understanding of financial market dynamics.
