  • Who are your influences?

Rupi Kaur was a huge inspiration for me when I first started writing poetry. A female poet whose work gained momentum by sharing her own story was my biggest driving point when I started writing my book.

  • Describe your artistic style.

I'm not quite sure how to answer this one. I write stories, true stories more beautifully but also vaguely so that people can apply their interpretation or story to my words and have it become more meaningful to them!
  • In your free time, what do you like to do?

Theatre! I am a huge theatre nerd. I often go see shows with my mom at the Jubilee in Calgary whenever I can! But I also have been playing guitar for...12 years now!
  • What advice would you give aspiring artists?

Just do it. If you are thinking about it, it's because it's already something appealing to you. You never know until you try, so just do it. Keep doing it until you love it, and once you love it - remember why you do it.

The University is located on traditional Blackfoot Confederacy territory. We honour the Blackfoot people and their traditional ways of knowing in caring for this land, as well as all Aboriginal peoples who have helped shape and continue to strengthen our University community.
