Some advice for a Thursday before spring break: Attend your classes. Even if you think you can do well because you have the course textbooks, your prof posts lectures and other materials on Moodle, your friend gives you their notes etc., this is generally not a good strategy. Research has shown a connection between regular class attendance and good course grades.

Black History Month: February 1 marks the beginning of Black History Month, with several events planned at ULethbridge both in-person (Lethbridge campus) and online (for Calgary and Lethbridge campuses). Meet for a walk or a tea, play a game of table tennis, work out together, or just sit and talk. Keep it simple. It’ll help you both.

Brrrr… The anticipated cold, wintery weather has finally arrived! Are you prepared? A colleague recently gave some students this advice: Dress like an onion — in layers!   That’s my advice to students new to this part of Canada this week. Dressing in three or four layers of clothing, including a good coat, gloves, hat and boots, is the antidote to the freezing temps!
