Lindsay Spadavecchia

Image

Born and raised in Lethbridge, Lindsay started her academic journey at the U of L attending a Kindergarten program on campus! Over the years Lindsay and her family were fixtures at Horns basketball games, music, arts, and drama productions on campus, and summers in sports camps and enjoying campus facilities. She has always said that attending U of L for her first two years of undergrad studies from 1995-1997 felt less like a big step transition and more like an extension of home. Lindsay has moved around both Alberta and British Columbia before returning to Lethbridge in 2015 with her husband and two daughters. After many years in the education/edtech sector, Lindsay joined Alberta Innovates in 2018. Lindsay is currently the Director, Regional Innovation for Alberta Innovates – providing front-line business and technology development support and resources to Alberta’s innovators and entrepreneurs. Outside work, Lindsay has served on several not-for-profit boards and councils. She holds a Bachelor or Arts in English Language and Literature, and a Master of Business Administration.

Joining the Senate feels like a natural continuation of her family’s history and roots in the institution. Lindsay is looking forward as a Senator to continue raising awareness of the incredible work produced by our University and build out meaningful connections and intersections for ongoing growth and success.

The University is located on traditional Blackfoot Confederacy territory. We honour the Blackfoot people and their traditional ways of knowing in caring for this land, as well as all Aboriginal peoples who have helped shape and continue to strengthen our University community.
