Long Service Awards
The University of Lethbridge recognizes that our people are our greatest asset and are critical to overall University success. The effort, dedication, and insight of our employees are all extremely valuable to the successful undertakings of our organization. The Long Service Awards are how ULethbridge shows its appreciations for the continued contributions of our employees.
Long Service Awards (LSA) are first given to an employee when they hit the ten (10) year milestone of continuous service since joining the University. Long Service Awards are then awarded at five-year intervals following this initial milestone. LSA recipients will receive a gift from the University in recognition of their service and are invited to attend the Long Service Awards Ceremony, where LSA recipients are recognized and honored for their long-standing contributions and hard work. This event is hosted annually, on the first Wednesday of the month of May, and all employees are welcome to attend.
President’s Award for Service Excellence
The President’s Award for Service Excellence is awarded annually to University of Lethbridge employees in recognition of the provision of exceptional service to the University of Lethbridge and members of the University community. Typically, one award is given to an AUPE/ESS employee and one award is given to an APO/Executive Director employee. An additional Team award can also be considered through the nomination and selection process. Award recipients will be honored at the annual Long Service Awards and Retirement Recognition Ceremony.
Retiree Recognition
ULethbridge acknowledges the immense contributions made by those who have reached their time to retire and take on the next steps in life's great journey. In the past, retiree recognition was part of the overall Long Service Awards Ceremony. In order to celebrate our retirees alongside their retirement parties and farewells, we are shifting the timing of retiree recognition. Each retiree will be given a gift from ULethbridge in recognition of their years of service and retirees are honored annually at the Long Service Awards Ceremony.
