Brenda Nguyen, BSc, MSc, PhD

Brenda Nguyen is a professor of management in the Dhillon School of Business at the University of Lethbridge, where she teaches human resources, organizational behaviour, and graduate-level leadership.

Research. Her research examines how character, judgment, and identity shape leadership and behaviour in organizations. Her work on character-based judgment and ethical decision making - examining how character is activated, develops, and shapes judgment in organizations - appears in the Journal of Business Ethics, Management Learning, and IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management. A related stream investigates authenticity, behavioural integrity, and trust, with publications in the Journal of Trust Research and the Journal of Leadership & Organizational Studies. Her research on personality in the workplace - including selection, impression management, moral disengagement, and procrastination - appears in the Journal of Occupational and Organizational Psychology, the European Journal of Personality, and the International Journal of Selection and Assessment. Her current projects extend this foundation to identity under pressure - masculine identity threat, diaspora distress, and imposter syndrome - alongside cross-national research on AI supervision and fieldwork on innovation boundaries in Japan.

Public engagement.
