Dhillon School of Business Scholarships
Just some of the student-supporting scholarships you can to contribute to.
| The Aikimmisa Pookaiksi Graduate Scholarship in Management | The Aikimmisa Pookaiksi Graduate Scholarship in Management, was established in 2023 by the dean of the Dhillon School of Business, Dr. Kerry Godfrey, with gifts from the community, to help address the lack of funding for Indigenous graduate students. Aikimmisa Pookaiksi is a Blackfoot term and means to ‘raise up the children.’ The name was given by Blackfoot Elder Francis First Charger and is meant to honour the “Every Child Matters” movement and help further the school’s commitment to reconciliation and Indigenisation. Each year a scholarship of $1,000 minimum is now given to an Indigenous graduate student in need of support. |
| Kas’sin Noo nii’ ksi (Elders) Scholarship | Elders are critical to the vibrancy on campus. They share their knowledge, wisdom and traditional practices, offer guidance and support, and provide cultural teaching and spiritual mentoring to our students, staff and faculty. In honour of the Elders in Residence- past, present and future, your support of the Kas’sin Noo nii’ ksi Scholarship not only honours tradition and community but also directly supports Indigenous students, creating pathways to education and opportunity for the next generation. Together, we can make a lasting impact and support Reconciliation through Education. |
| Scholarship Dinner | For years the Dhillon School of Business and its advisory board has acknowledge the contributions of an outstanding member of the community through the Scholarship Dinner. Donations raised by the dinner then establish a scholarship fund in the name of the honouree. Proceeds from this fund are used to provide deserving students with financial support that will assist them in attaining their educational goals. To date, more than $2 million has been raised for student scholarships because of this event. More on Scholarship Dinner past recipients and the scholarships created in their honour. |
