Buprenorphine Patch Study

Title of Study: Pilot study using low dose buprenorphine patches for initiation of opioid withdrawal treatment in patients with Opioid Use Disorder to improve successful initiation and retention rates in outpatient settings.

Principal Investigators: Darren R. Christensen PhD, Dr. Monty Ghosh, Dr. Laura Evans, Dr. Alvis Yu.

Who are we looking for? We are looking for 110 men and women (who are not pregnant) between the ages of 18-70 with an Opioid Use Disorder who present for buprenorphine initiation at the study sites.

Participants will be asked to complete a range of assessments. The study has between two to seven clinic visits and three follow up telephone calls.

Compensation is provided.

This study has been approved by the University of Calgary’s Conjoint Health Research Ethics Board (#REB18-1496). Participation is confidential.
